The jackal and Mr Hyde impression started again at Oakwell on Saturday against Championship strugglers Plymouth Argyle. They cam and out played us in the second half to send a few ripples of discontent amongst the Barnsley faithful.
Barnsley started much the better side carving out several openings including an open net miss by Halfreddson. We eventually took the lead just before half time as Colaces shot came off the ground and fly into the top corner. Plymouth didnt lay down in the second half being far the better side which was not difficult as the Barnsley performance was embarrassing.
With Plymouth coming from behind to beat Barnsley and claim their first only away win since Boxing Day.
Hugo Colace put the reds in front just before the break in slightly fortunate fashion with a shot from the edge of the area.
Plymouth got back into it when captain Carl Fletcher fired into the top left corner of the goal to level on 64 minutes.
Plymouth then took the lead when Jamie Mackie headed home from close range and it was former Barnsley man Rory Fallon secured victory with a third goal, a lovely lob from 35 yards, catching Luke Steele off his line.
The result will be a huge boost to Plymouth as they also gained points on the sides above them, and a severe blow to our play off aspirations.
Barnsley manager Mark Robins:
"The second-half performance was a complete contrast to the first half. Once we've got in front, we think it's easy.
"In the second half it was capitulation. They got a goal out of nothing and we just dropped backwards and it got difficult to get passing."
"We have had a lot games but that's no excuse. We've got to be better than that."
Plymouth manager Paul Mariner:
"We're not a bad team, we are a decent team. We've got a lot of harmony in our group.
"I'm so pleased for the fans. We really appreciate what the fans are doing for the team."
Man of the match: Jay Rodriguez - worked hard and showed his skill in a very poor Barnsley performance.
