Another 1-1 draw away from home and another goal to take the lead from Jacob Butterfield, who is having an inspirational season for Barnsley FC, fulfilling the promise shown as an emerging younster in the last couple of seasons.
His goal came at a similar time to the one he got at Birmingham last week, continuing the Reds brilliant away form this season and also keeping alive the unbeaten away run. Derby got back into it through a second half penalty from Steve Davies after Ben Davies was brought down by Bobby Hassell. The Reds went to pride park with the home side looking to go top with a win, but the mighty red and white wizards stood in the way of Derby's aspirations for top spot.
Luke Steele had to put in an incredible personal display to keep out the Derby attacks, it wasn't a case of coasting and dominating at times like at Birmingham. Derby were a tough challenge with ex Barnsley FC player Jason Shackell bolstering the Derby defence. But it was a defensive lapse by Derby that allowed Jacob Butterfield to fire the Reds into the lead from 10 yards out on 35 minutes.
Derby pulled level through the penalty on the hour mark, and then proceeded to pour forward at the Barsnley goal as they looked for the winner that would take them to the top of the Championship, but Luke Steele had other ideas, keeping them out and securing a deserved point for Barnsley FC and our 5th consecutive draw, with a month of games all drawn 1-1.
Steve Davies went close to winning it but his header sailed just over the bar, after Steele earlier tipped over a Jeff Hendrick effort, got his hand to a Theo Robinson header and a magnificent point blank reflex stop again from Steve Davies to take another point back to Oakwell, and from Derby County which this Season looks to have been assembled into a very strong team by Nigel Clough.
