The South Yorkshire derby game against struggling neighbours Donny Rovers ended up with a comfortable victory for Barnsley FC, being too much for bottom of the table Doncaster, with the highlight being a nice confidence boosting brace from Craig Davies at either side of the break.

It piles on the pressure for Rovers as they continue to be stuck to the bottom spot in the Championship, but keeps the Reds momentum going and places us nicely in mid table as we approach the big game with Leeds United at Elland Road this coming Saturday.
In a game where Barnsley dominated everything it could have been a wider margin if it wasn't for the keeping of Ikeme in goal for Rovers in on loan for his first game since the move from Wolves, but he wasn't able to keep out the in-form Davies, as he guided his first in to put Barnsley in front, and then volleyed in his second in the second half from a Matty Done cross.
Davies got on the end of ball from keeper Luke Steele and whilst in bounced into the Rovers area he put it away from 12 yards to send Barnsley in at the break with a well deserved lead.
In the second half the Reds continued their dominance as Matty Done supplied a perfect cross for Craig Davies after evading the attentions of two Donny defenders. Davies sweetly volleyed the ball home to put the Tykes in control.
Matters got worse for Doncaster when they went down to 10 men following a clumsy tackle by Lockwood on Stephen Foster, putting paid to any hopes of getting anything from the game. Bring on Leeds United now, with a good couple of performances against the Whites last year, its set to be a ding-dong.
