The Reds brilliant run continues, and Hill has to be up for manager of the month with three wins out of four and two brilliant away wins amongst them. We are very much in the chasing pack for the play offs after three consequative wins see us climb the table.

It was Craig Davies to the rescue again as his late goal sealed a brilliant win over the posh and a dramatic seven goal thriller, which would have been an hard pill to swallow had we only drawn having been 3-0 up at one stage. Prior to Peterboroughs lightning comback scoring three goals to level it in a six minute period mid way through the second half.

It was Jim O'Brien whose goal set the Reds on the way it was a fortunate start but they all count as his shot took a deflection off Gabriel Zakauni who diverted it past into the Peterborough goal.

Captain fantastic - Jacob Butterfield was on hand for his fifth goal of the season putting the Reds in control at 2-0 up.

Ricardo Vas Te also popped up with his third of the season with a nice curling shot beating the Peterborough keeper and putting Barnsley FC into what looked like an untouchable lead. Peterborough thought otherwise as a Purple patch of six minutes saw three goals that drew them level and also gave them the edge psychologically. George Boyd slotted in the first for the Posh, Ryan Bennett powered in the Peterborough second with sub Lee Frecklington got the third as the home side drew level, and then would have eyed an unlikely victory but the Reds and top scorer (who can't stop scoring - makes a nice change!) Craig Davies fired in on 78 minutes to take the Reds back into a lead which they held on to.

Luke Steele had another good game as coming up against his former club was tested by former Red Grant McCann as his long drive moved in the air. Then after we went in front thanks to the deflected O'Brien effort, Steele was on hand to make three brilliant stops to keep the Reds in front, then the Reds made the most of their opportunity when Danny Drinkwater squared the ball and found Jacob Butterfield who fired into the top corner and the Reds into a two goal cushion.

Ten minutes after the break Ricardo Vas Te was on hand to curl his effort past the outstretched Joe Louis to put the Reds firmly in control with the what looked the points in the bag.

With 30 minutes of the game remaining Darren Ferguson changed things using all three subs, and in worked as soon after Boyd slotted in the first of a quick three goal reply from the home side.

Bennet then fired in the second after combining with Lee Frecklington in a one two that presented him with the shooting space to fire past Luke Steele.

Lee Frecklington himself bagged a goal, after being found by a nice pass from Boyd he worked it past Steele from 12 yards out to send jitters through the Barnsley team and assembled fans.

We weathered the storm and with ten minutes to go Danny Drinkwater jinked his way into space to pick out Craig Davies in the area who made no mistake firing into the top left of goal to seal a brilliant win that displayed skill, determination and showing good character and confidence which makes people start to notice the Reds surge through the division.
