The Reds were so unlucky not to register a crucial three points at the Kings Power Stadium, valiantly battling to a 2-1 lead at one of the Championships promotion candidates. It was a cruel blow in the 90th minute as the home side equalised depriving Barnsley of a much needed win and consigning us to the relegation zone for the first time this season.

Leicester must have thought it was going to be an easy day as they took and early lead on 9 minutes, but it wasn't to be as the Reds pulled into the lead, and it was left to Jamie Vardy to fire in a 90th minute equaliser to share the points.

Vardy hit a close range effort following some good play by Nugent, it was such a cruel blow for the Tykes as we battled and battled against a team thats spent a load of money in a bid to gain access to the top tier of English football. Its what every team dreams of, but the lower division looks to be increasingly likely for our beloved Reds.

Leister took the lead on 9 minutes but they had an earlier opportunity as John Stone gave away a freekick after blocking Lloyd Dyer, but Luke Steele made an excellent save as he tipped Waghorns freekick around the post.

The Reds had their backs against the wall, for most of the game, but we took the few chances we had, with Leicester having 17 shots throughout, and a goal looked like it was set to come for the home side, and on 9 minutes Anthony Knockaert fired past Steele from 12 yards out.

After going a goal down and keeping it at one after Leicesters early dominance the Reds battled into contention with a series of strong tackles and it culminated in a Barnsley equaliser on 27 minutes as Stephen Dawson cooly fired beyond Casper Schmeichel to get Barnsley back into it.

The equaliser roused Barnsley into greater endeavours but it became more of a game as the home side still pressed, as Dyer fired over the bar from just inside the area.

The home side where left wondering what happened when the Reds then took the lead with a lovely crafted over head kick from Reuben Noble-Lazarus from just outside the six yard box, following some good work by Jim O'brien.

Waghorn had a long range effort again thwarted by Steele, and Buzsaky shot wide for the Reds in a good position just before half time.

Leicester pressed harder as time was running out for them to get anything from the game, and Knockaert went close to equalising with a right foot effort and then an header as it just flew over the bar.

Waghorn was replaced by Vardy, and Vardy it was who took the last minute chance and got Leicester level. On the strength of it, Hill would have been very happy with a point prior to kick off.
