Keith Hills team took a battering at promotion hopefuls Watford. As the home side demonstrated the gulf that seems to have occurred between certain teams in the Championship, and put the Reds in further trouble as lack of points see us sucked into the relegation zone.

The home side looked comfortable at 4-0 thanks to two goals from Troy Deeney, the Reds got a consolation through a Marcus Tudguy goal at the death.

The loss made it an alarming 9 games without a win for the Tykes, and the relegation zone looms closer by the week.

Deeney recently promoted from a place on the subs bench by Hornets manager Zola, repaid the faith with two goals, his first coming on 10 minutes, firing past Steele with his head. Mark Yeates followed in the second half with a measured strike to put Watford in control.
Deeney secured the points for Watford on 66 minutes with his strike from just outside the box.

The Reds seem to be having problems at the back, with Deeney able to find space and rise without challenge to head in the opener from a Marco Cassetti corner ball.

We were not completely out of the running at 1-0, and we created chances through a rallying period of play with efforts from Davies and Tudguy, but both failed to convert from respective Buszaky corners.

Despite our endeavours it was the home side who pulled away with their second goal coming from Mark Yeates who collected the ball at a tight angle and did well to fire past Luke Steele into the bottom corner of his goal. The second gave the home side further impetus as Fernando Forestieri on loan from Italian club Udinese set up Deeney for his well taken second and Watfords third.

It was all Watford in the second half, and this rout was complete when Vydra converted his penalty kick awarded after Jimmy McNulty brought him down in the box.

One positive for the Reds came in the form of the second goal in two games for on loan Marcus Tudguy as he finished well to give the Reds a consolation goal on another bad day on the road.
