Influential Brazilian Anderson De Silva could be back in action for the reds for the start of the season.

The man who Simon Davey chased the signature of all last season, and eventually secured from Everton, has a chance of making a full recovery from his operation in time to have a part in the opening of the season.

This is a huge Oakwell bonus, as De Silva proved so influential in his two elongated spells on loan at Oakwell last season. Helping the reds well up into play-off contention during an unbeaten run that coincided with the Brazilians first spell on loan with the reds. Form did drop mid way through the season when Anderson had to rejoin his then side, Premiership club Everton FC.

Brought in with the help of Simon Daveys personal friendship with Everton manager David Moyes from his days working alongside him, when Moyes managed Preston North End. He was the capture of last season, and proved a cruel blow when such an important player picked up a nasty injury towards the latter part of the season. Fingers crossed that he has a speedy recovery and he graces the Oakwell pitch from the start of this coming season.
