Buxton 1 - Barnsley 4
PRE-SEASON FRIENDLY

MATCH REPORT
Jon Macken and Jamil Adam claimed a brace of goals each in the bad weather at Buxtons Silverlands Stadium.
Barnsley's first game of their pre-season friendlies saw them emerge comfortable victors. The reds should have taken the lead through a bobby hassell header, after he got on the end of a Howard cross from the corner after 8 minutes, the ball bounced free and stephen Foster failed to turn it in from two yards.
Chances followed for Jon Macken and Diego Leon, and Hugo Colace showed a good early sign of his touch, splitting the Buxton defence putting Ian Hume through, but Hume was kept out by a fingertip save.
The first goal came thanks to a Rob Kosluk break, creating a chance for Jon Macken from 13 yards, which he drilled into the bottom corner.
On the 33rd minute, howard was very close with a spectacular over head kick from a knock back from new signing Mounir El Haimour. Diego Leon had another chance and hit the post, then against the run of play Buxton got their equaliser: with Knight hitting a nice volley past Steele on 40 mins. getting his shot in despite close attention from Dennis Souza. Buxton created another chance a minute later when Mark Hume got a header in, but it didnt trouble the goal.
After the break, the reds where back in the lead, a jacob butterfield freekick was latched onto by Jamil Adam, who looks a promising squad member, coming through the ranks of the Barnsley Academy. Adam, unmarked turned it into the far corner, for his opening goal for the first team.
On 53 minutes new signing El Haimour got past his marker down the left and came very close to his first goal for the reds, but it was deflected wide by keeper Hartley. More good work on the left followed from the French El Haimour, resulting in another parried shot, the ball dropped to Adam who scored his second and the third on the night from close range.
One thing we have learnt from this game, is the potential for the new season, notably Adam who picked up two goals, but putting everyone in the shade was El Haimours second half display, proving to be a very exciting prospect for the coming season with a further contribution as he set up Jon Mackens second, who knocked in from 5 yards from El Haimours cross on 78 minutes.
Steele proved he hadn't gone to sleep as he saved a couple of Buxton efforts late on, tipping Tommy Agus' freekick effort round the post.
