MATCH REPORT
Jamil Adam continued his excellent start to the pre-season fixtures with another goal to pull the reds level at Glossop North End, his third in two games reinforcing his potential for coming season.
The reds needed the reply from Rob Kozluck and Jamil Adam to pull back a draw, despite being 2-0 down at the break.
Simon Davey made wholesale changes from the side that comfortably saw off Buxton, which is perfectly understandable, the friendly fixtures are there as a platform to increase fitness and try out various player patterns, so when other websites mention close to an embarrassing defeat, we don't subscribe to that view here.
Johnson, Leon and Hassell all came close hitting the woodwork, then Kozluck headed Barnsleys first on 72, from a good cross from Diego Leon. Four minutes later form man Jamil Adam clinched the draw.
This was after a first half in which on only 7 minutes Dave Young curled the opener past Kyle Letheren in the Barnsley nets. This was followed on 33 minutes, with Dave Hodges running clear after a bit of a mix up in the Barnsley defence, to make it 2-0 to Glossop.
JLWB comment:- Nice to see another stiker coming into contention in the form of Jamil Adam, if he keeps popping them in, and proves he can still do it at the higher levels,it will give Simon Davey more options up front.
