Barnsley 0 - Blackpool 1

MATCH REVIEW:
On committing the cardinal sin during relegation battles, of dropping points at home, puts the reds back into the relegation zone at exactly the wrong time of the season, and without a spectacular record away from home, these games at Oakwell are crucial to the reds' increasingly tenuous grasp on Championship status, today we lost again at ' fortress' Oakwell, more like a slightly deflated bouncy castle these days!
Wade Small scored on his debut to give Blackpool victory over Barnsley in the battle of the strugglers.
The winger scored the only and ultimately winning goal 20 minutes from time when he fired in a fantastic volley from the edge of the area.
Blackpool also went close through Joe Martin, whose volley went fractionally wide, while DJ Campbell wasted a clear chance on goal.
Barnsley's Adam Hammill forced Paul Rabchuka into making two fine saves.
Some good saves from the Blackpool keeper kept Barnsley from gaining anything from this crucial match, meanwhile talk amongst elements of the fans are looking for the managers head... a tricky one, and one to be debated?

Barnsley manager Simon Davey:
"It wasn't the result I was looking for. We didn't step up to the plate.
"We are disappointed but we've got 11 games left and when it comes to 4 May then we'll decide how well we've done.
"It's not going to be judged on one day. It was a big game for us and we lost it and that's what happens in this division.
"Nothing dropped for us and if we were still out there now, we wouldn't score. It's disappointing because we lost at home and lost to a team that's around us."
We now face a massive game on Tuesday night at Oakwell against an in form Palace side, a match which we need three points from.
