Barnsley 3 - Crystal Palace 1

MATCH REVIEW:
On a day when only a win will do, the reds duly oblidged turning in one of the impressive performances of the season. If we had not registered three points in this match, we would have been in very deep doo doo! The result makes life a 'bit' more comfortable, but still plenty of work to be done.
The team that won QPR was very similar to the one fielded last night, which includes our best back four, of Kozluck, Moore, Foster and Hassell. And with Anderson back in the midfield... if we can keep this kind of line up for the remainder of the season, then we should pick up enough points to ensure Championship football at Oakwell next season.
Barnsley boss Simon Davey is confident his side have what it takes to stay in the Championship after watching them come from behind to beat Crystal Palace 3-1.
Shefki Kuqi fired the Eagles into an early lead at Oakwell Davey and the rest of Oakwell feared the worst.
Jamal Campbell-Ryce ensured we went in level at half-time a Lee Hills own goal and Michael Mifsud's second goal for the Tykes secured three precious points which lifts up three places to 19th in the Championship.
The win also means Barnsley are now two points off the drop zone, with two games in hand on most of the teams around them.
Listen to Simon Davey's comments on the match
"We asked for a reaction from Saturday and we got everything we asked for," Davey said.
"We went behind after a mistake from Stephen Foster, but the way we bounced back and the character we showed was fantastic. We were a lot more dangerous than them and we were the better side and deserved to win.
"We are now looking up, there was doom and gloom at the weekend when we went into the bottom three but we're looking up now and will try and catch Derby, who are three points ahead of us.
"I think we know what we need to do to stay in this division, we have to stay focused as a team and management. We're not out of danger, but we know what we have to do."
Palace boss Neil Warnock dismissed any chance of his side making the play-offs and has already turned his attention to improving his squad in the summer.
"I've felt it's been over for a number of weeks if I'm honest, we've lost crucial players and we aren't good enough," he said.
"We had our chances and you can see we've got decent players but we just haven't got a squad to cope with a number of injuries.
"I'm disappointed we're not in the play-offs, 2-0 up at Burnley last week, 1-0 up today but it's because we're not good enough and I don't like to be not good enough," he added.
"I don't mind if I'm good enough and we get beat when we shouldn't get beaten and it's disappointing.
"But the fans understand the financial situation at the club, it's crucial we get five or six Bosmans, I don't think we'll be able to pay any money out."
The former Sheffield United boss slammed his side's defending and admitted the Tykes were worthy winners.
"We couldn't cope with the quickness of their breaks and we were our own worst enemies," he admitted.
"We created most of their breaks. That is really Sunday league defending.
"Credit to Barnsley, I thought they deserved it, they pushed their luck a little bit and the crowd got behind them and they deserved it."
