Forest off bottom, Wolves and Birmingham in stalemate in West Midlands derby.

Nottingham Forest climbed off the bottom of the table with victory over Barnsley, while the West Midlands top two shared the points at Molineux.

Doncaster spoiled Brendan Rodgers' first game in charge as Watford boss with a 1-1 draw at Vicarage Road, while Burnley helped their play off chances with a easy victory over Derby at Turf Moor.

In the early kick-off Sylvan Ebanks-Blake's late goal gave Wolves a 1-1 draw with neighbours Birmingham at Molineux.

Ebanks-Blake struck 16 minutes from time to cancel out Cameron Jerome's opener early in the second half to maintain Wolves' 6 point lead at the top.

Joe Garner's first-half goal gave Nottingham Forest a priceless 1-0 win over Barnsley to ease the pressure on Colin Calderwood.

Burnley climbed up to fourth with a convincing 3-0 win over Derby.

Kevin McDonald fired the home side in front early on with his first goal for the club and top scorer Martin Paterson added another two to his tally before the break. Following the two he scored at Oakwell in midweek.

Brian Laws celebrated signing a new deal at Sheffield Wednesday by seeing his side get the better of Norwich after a five-goal thriller at Hillsborough.

Sammy Clingan gave Norwich the lead two minutes before the break when he netted with a penalty after Marcus Tudgay felled Wesley Hoolahan, but Wednesday turned the game around with two fast strikes from loan star Tony McMahon (51) and Leon Clarke (55).

The lead was short-lived as Leroy Lita drew Norwich level just past the hour, but Marcus Tudgay got the winner for Wednesday on 72 minutes and to round off Norwich's misery John Kennedy was sent off late on for a professional foul.

Liam Dickinson had a dream debut for Blackpool with a quick-fire brace which helped them to victory at Plymouth .

On-loan Paul Gallagher gave Plymouth the lead on 67 minutes, but two goals in three minutes from substitute Dickinson gave Blackpool an unlikely win.

Steve Brooker's debut goal for Doncaster secured a 1-1 draw with Watford to cancel out Tommy Smith's first-half opener.

It was a tale of two penalties at Portman Road as James Beattie's late spot-kick earned Sheffield United a 1-1 draw with Ipswich .

Tommy Miller gave Ipswich the lead four minutes before the break when he scored from the spot after Matthew Kilgallon was adjudged to have handled the ball inside the box, but Beattie earned United a point when he kept his cool from the spot in injury-time.

Charltons misery continued, making it 10 games without a win after being held to a goalless draw at home to Southampton .

Crystal Palace and Queens Park Rangers shared the spoils after a poor goalless draw at Selhurst Park.
