Birmingham keep up pressure on Wolves at the top, as Wolves suffer defeat. Donny get off bottom, as they jump over Charlton.

Carling Cup semi-finalists Burnley rounded off a brilliant week with victory at Sheffield United, well done Burnley!

Cardiff moved into 5th with a 2-0 victory over in-form Preston.

Birmingham came from behind to defeat a struggling Watford 3-2 at St Andrews.

Tamas Priskin gave Watford a shock lead after seven minutes, but Kevin Phillips drew Birmingham level a minute later.

Marcus Bent got Birmingham in front on 18 mins and Cameron Jerome added a third five minutes from time before Ross Jenkins grabbed a late consolation for Watford.

Martin Rowlands' super-strike sent league leaders Wolverhampton Wanderers to a first defeat in nine games and cut their lead at the top to just three points, as QPR claimed a 1-0 home win.

The QPR captain hit a stunning goal midway through the second half at Loftus Road to dent Wolves' promotion hopes and give his side sights of the play-offs.

Ten-man Reading maintained their drive for promotion with a 1-0 victory over Barnsley at Oakwell.

Reading were reduced to ten-men on 35 minutes when Jimmy Kebe was red carded for violent conduct following a foul on Dennis Souza.

The visitors came off top Brynjar Gunnarsson grabbing the winner on 64 minutes.

Loanee Liam Dickinson made it four goals in two games for Blackpool to inspire them to a 2-0 win over managerless Charlton Athletic .

Marcus Tudgay's late show earned Sheffield Wednesday a 1-1 draw with Southampton at St Mary's.

Cardiff got their first win in four games with a 2-0 success over Preston .

Nottingam Forest continue to battle at the bottom and twice came from behind to earn a 2-2 draw with Coventry .

Elliott Ward gave Coventry the perfect start after just two minutes, and Rob Earnshaw fired Forest level with his first goal in eight games.

Clinton Morrison restored Coventry's lead on 29 minutes, but Joe Garner earned Forest a precious point with a 61st minute equaliser.

Crystal Palace ended Derby's good run of form with a 2-1 win at Pride Park.

Shefki Kuqi netted the winner just past the hour mark after Luke Varney had cancelled out Patrick McCarthy's early opener for Palace.

Bristol City and Swansea shared the points after a goalless draw at Ashton Gate.
