The Ice Man Cometh!

Simon Davey has completed the signing of Icelandic international midfielder Emil Hallfredsson from Reggina.

The 25 year old midfielder has signed a season loan deal at Oakwell being captured from Italian side Reggina.

Hallfredsson played for Tottenham between 2005-07 but never made a senior appearance, so he is familiar with the english game, and will give us more options in midfield, and hopefully add a edge of steel in the middle.

Capped 23 times for Iceland he is a solid addition to the Barnsley FC side.

"Emil has now joined us on loan for the season and we are delighted to have brought him to Oakwell," Davey told the club's official website.

"He has experience of playing at the very highest level both in Italy and with Iceland and will be a valuable addition to our squad."
